Mentoring is available to anyone over the age of 11.  There is no upper age limit, so this also includes all adults.

Mentoring is very individual and offers a way to support you with things that maybe holding you back.  It is not just about careers, personal mentoring helps you on your journey holistically, looking at all aspects of your life to help give you the tools and goals so that you can move forward.

This is not a counselling service and individuals who need counselling should seek professional support elsewhere.

What does mentoring look like?

This depends on you!  

For adults, we use the sessions to help you see the wood for the trees!  If you need help or support with something, then we are there to help.  This could be that you need assistance with form filling, applying for something, signposting somewhere or support with setting goals, achieving something, changing something... it really is up to you!  It could even be that you feel stuck in a rut and not sure how to move forward in your life!

The main goal is to offer advice, support and encouragement to help you get to where you want to be.

For young people, we explore what barriers are in place and the sessions are used for them to use however they want.  We can craft, colour, talk about things,  offer careers advice, discuss life skills and so much more.

For parents of young people not at school, we offer a safe space to talk about what has been happening and provide general support.

Please note that all of the mentoring sessions are confidential however the normal safeguarding protocols are in place.  If at any point it is felt that counselling is needed, then this will be fed back to individuals and, if under 18, their guardians.

Mentoring takes place online or in person in Chatteris.  Currently there is a small fee, however we are looking at funding them in the future.  This service is delivered by Rebecca Howley-Rivers, for more information about Rebecca, please click here
